Slow Cooker Chicken Dinner

Today I made a chicken in the slow cooker (Whole Young Chicken $.58/lb= $4.58).

With the main part of the chicken I made our dinner along with green beans (with Parmesan cheese on top)
and bread and butter.

Then I separated the rest of the meat from the bones and have frozen it for Chicken Pot Pie some time next week (check in with me later to see how I used this)

I then put the bones and skin back in the crock pot filled with water (to almost the top) and will let that simmer on low for 8 hours (overnight) for broth for potato soup for tomorrow night.
(I will strain this in the morning before starting my soup)

Tonight's Meal Breakdown:
Whole Young Chicken= $4.58 (divide by 3 meals)= approx $1.52
Green Beans= FREE  (these were flash frozen and vacuum sealed at peak season from our garden)
Bread= $.08/slice x 4 slices= $.32
Parm Cheese + Butter= approx $.10
Total Cost of Meal= $1.94 (approx $.48/person)
